Party billboard at Ground Zero Guests arrive at Garden Party Protagonist helped us promote the events at Laurel's Herb Farm by placing this special billboard at ground zero in AlphaWorld. Invited guests and curiosity seekers alike used this magic teleporting sign to land in Laurel's Herb Garden right in the heart of Sherwood Forest Towne (mind the petunias, please). Guests were greeted by our charming host, Spark from Match.com. Who kept the convesation light and interesting, helping Match.com guests and others alike.
Avatar Dress ChoicesAvatar dress, as always, was very casual. The fourteen year old Brian Williams from Birmingham Alabama, so oft see in his surfers wetsuite, was flitting around as the new Bird avatar. After the incident with the party crasher was resolved by banishment, the party tempo picked up. Protagonist, temporarily dressed as Laurel, the creator of the Herb Farm livened up the party by holding a trivia quiz and then disk jockeying a continuous stream of music ranging from techno to jazz. He attached the sound files to the fountain in the garden, which morphed into a kind of hidden speaker.

Go to the Poetry Grove! Crowd in the Poetry Grove The first ever poetry reading in the real, three dimensional cyberspace was held in the redwood grove next to Laurel's Herb Farm. This grove was modeled after the real redwood poetry grove in the back yard of J.J. Webb, poet extraordinaire of the burg of Boulder Creek in the beautiful San Lorenzo Valley south of San Francisco.
Other poets performing this day inclued Alex Utterman and Geene Pohoral.
JJ Webb, Poet in AvatarJJ Webb is the author of several books of poetry, online poetry Zines such as The Hawk. JJ chose this beefy looking avatar because he is a beefy sort of guy (he actually could pass as a full Hell's Angel). We cannot reproduce the power and color of JJ's spoken word performance here but we hope you enjoy his innagural CyberSpace poem I saw the most amazing things today!.
The First Poem Read in 3D CyberSpace Captured!
We have marked the poet's words in purple, and the party hosts in red.

This special event would be held in the spring of 1997 in the beautiful (real) poetry grove, at Boulder Creek, California. Live vide, a CD-ROM and a website would complement this momentous cyber event. If you are interested in participating, either physically or virtually, please contact J.J. Webb.
